General Policy

The centre’s intellectual property policy allows for multiple scenarios for sharing intellectual property, according to the contribution of each partner, from conserving the intellectual property at Kemitek, with user licences for clients to a complete transfer of intellectual property.

Kemitek’s privacy or confidentiality policy ensures that research outcomes, resulting from collaboration with the centre are exclusive to the client. All employees of the centre are contractually bound to privacy and are regularly made aware of the importance of this commitment. Furthermore, the client is ensured that the “technology-application pairings” for their research targets are exclusive and that Kemitek will not re-use the same technology for a similar application for anyone else without obtaining the client’s authorization.

Kemitekexpects its employees to be part of  professional associations that govern their respective professions. They are subject to the rules and regulations governing their profession and are answerable to the authorities whose aim is the protection of the public.

Kemitek further subscribes to the Cégep de Thetford’s ethical policy relating to the prevention of conflicts of interest, complaint handling and accuracy of results.
