Mathieu Desrosiers

R&D Chemist

Expertise:

  • Organic synthesis chemistry
  • Polymer chemistry
  • Chemistry of materials
  • Formulation
  • Analytical chemistry
  • Continuous flow chemistry

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry (Ongoing)- UQTR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (2009) – Université Laval

Experience:

Mr. Desrosiers has been a research professional at Kemitek for over 10 years. His research support function allowed him to be involved in the design and implementation of the vast majority of research projects at the center for a decade. In 2023, he retourned to his studies to complete a Master’s degree in chemistry at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) under the co-direction of Simon Barnabé and Benoît Daoust. Since completing his Master’s degree, Mr Desrosiers has been an R&D chemist at Kemitek.

Accomplishments:

  • Synthesis of different silica-based nanoporous materials
  • Developed a functional polymer lens for cellular telephones
  • Synthesis of different conductive and transparent polymers
  • Characterization of materials according to DSC and capacitance
  • Scale-up of processes and pre-production of various products for different companies
  • Waterless hand soap formulations that led to the commercialization of the product (technology transfer carried out)

Memberships:

  • Member of the Ordre des Chimistes du Québec (OCQ)
