NSERC - College and Community Innovation Program (CCI)
The College and Community Innovation (CCI) Program is managed by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) in collaboration with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
The grants are intended to provide companies that operate from a Canadian base access to the unique knowledge, expertise and capabilities available at Canadian colleges and to train students in essential technical skills required by companies. The mutually beneficial collaborations are expected to result in economic benefits to the company and/or Canada.
The program includes several funding streams available to businesses :
MESI – Passeport innovation
Passeport innovation aims to support technological, organizational and social innovation projects. It facilitates, among other things, access to a range of services useful for the advancement of applied research, testing, experimentation, etc., requiring the expertise of one or more organizations members of QuébecInnove.

Projects of technological, organizational and social innovation with a maturity level between 1 and 9.
Tax credit for technological adaptation services
The tax credit for technological adaptation services was introduced to support buisinesses in their innovation and technology transfert projects. A corporation of any size can benefit from the tax credit if it carries on a business in Quebec, has an etablishment and is not exempt from tax.
The services covered include, but are not limited to :
The credit will be determined by multiplying by 40% the amount of eligible expenditure incurred by a corporation for liaison and transfert services when rendered by college technology transfer centers or liaison and transfer centers.
To claim this tax credit, the corporation simply completes and encloses with its income tax return the Tax Credit for Technological Adaptation Services form Crédit d’impôt pour services d’adaptation technologique (CO-1029.8.21.22) along with a copy of the receipt delivered by the college technology transfert center.
NRC-IRAP
NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) provides financial support to qualified small and medium-sized enterprises in Canada to help them undertake technology innovation.
In order to be considered for possible IRAP funding, the basic eligibility criteria are:
Before entering into a financial commitment with a client, both the firm and the project are evaluated on an individual basis during a consultation with one of our Industrial Technology Advisors (ITAs) located across Canada.

MEES - Technological Research Assistance Program
The programme d’aide à la recherche technologique (PART) aims to enhance the potential of the human and technological of ressources of CEGEPs and Technology Transfer Center to meet the innovation needs of Quebec buisinesses and organizations.
It makes it possible both to strengthen the links between the CEGEPs and buisinesses and organizations and to enrich the work of teachers. It also makes it possible to subsidize applied research projects, the results of which are most often reflected in a real transfer to Quebec companies, particularly SMEs.
MESI – Synchrone
The Ministry supports CEGEPs with respect to their college technology transfer centers (CCTT) for the development of an intervention model aimed at pooling the expertise of different partners to better support research and innovation, to promote spin-offs, particularly in education, in all regions of Quebec, while respecting the mission of CEGEPs and CCTTs.
